I'm Home!

Wow does it feel good to be home!! The house is decked out for Christmas and its wonderful. Yesterday Mom and I made 7 different kinds of Christmas cookies, we baked from 10:00 am to about 5:00 or so.

Here's the list for 2004:
Sugar cookies
Spritz
Peanut butter blossoms
Chocolate snowflakes
Pizelles
Russian Tea cakes
Ginger bread cookies

Oh, and we also made homemade chex mix, and today my mom baked 4 kinds of 'christmas loaves' so the oven has been getting a workout! I'm looking forward to our Skiing vacation - and am so super excited that Kayla is now able to come with us!! Those darn finals schedules were messing everything up :)
Some other things that have happened while I've been gone: the family got a Mac computer. Its very different from the PCs and I'm having a hard time adjusting, but it works nice and looks pretty sweet.

Today was a great Woodland Hills Church day - everything was great. Walking in the choir was singing a traditional beginning to a Christmas song, and I thought "oh we're going traditional today." Oh no, they soon broke out into the funked out version that I love. Greg's beginning a series on the Kingdom and today we started with how God has perichoresis, latin for 'mutal indwelling' meaning he has a perfect relationship in himself as the Triune God: Father Son and Holy Spirit. And we are called to a relationship with him. In this way, as well as many others, he created us in his image. We also are intended for relationships. It gets hard when you feel alone because no one 'gets you.' They don't understand what you have gone though. When you meet someone who can say 'i know exactly what you mean,' in our wiring, we feel not so alone in the world with our problems. God knows all our problems, even though God incarnate on Earth did not sin, he experienced all our sins on the cross. He was made sin who knew no sin. He has experienced all the guilt, jealousy, all the sins of the world. And yet, he still calls to us, loves us, wants to be with us. Amazing. Oh, and I peeked in at the youth center, it looks so nice! They did a fabulous job with it all. There is a large room with a stage, balcony, it reminds me of the way Club 3 Degrees is set up. And there is an XBOX station: 4 stations, like the things at Target and places. And there are computer labs for homework help, and rec rooms with pool and everything. I would go to church to play!

Well I have to get going here, a big day of packing tomorrow and then Tuesday we're leaving for Lutsen!!
