Halloween

Hello everyone, it's halloween, and guess what my plans are: studying for tests, and when I get bored with that, working on my role for FYS. Very exciting, I know. Sigh, that's okay, I don't really like to go trick-or-treating for beer. Besides, I don't like Halloween much anyways (maybe that is partly from those tapes Mrs. Rodriquez made us listen to in Junior High about the demons rejoicing over people going out on Halloween) but whatever the case, I'm not too bummed out by my upcoming evening so "don't feel sorry for me" (i have ashlee simpson songs in my head). Yes, so I best be gettin back to my Calculus book ("it's getting pretty serious"). Wow - I'm in a crazy mood, i'm gonna stop typing now. Peace out.

Yesterday I was walking back from the post office with my headphones on listening to music and it was just so pretty out! I wish I had my camera, so I went back to the dorm, got the camera, and went and took pictures! I put a few of them below. Fall is definitely my favorite season!

A part of the Mission

Last night Christian talked to us at Intervarsity about being a part of God's mission on earth. He put the point across that he allows us to take part in speading his message FOR OUR GOOD. It is not because the fate of the world rests on our little shoulders, we are called to witness because it is good for us. So, we all prayed for opportunities this week, and maybe it's because I wasn't confidant that I would get an opportunity, but He gave me one. I talked with this girl, Rachel in my FYS class and so yeah, praise God for what he's gonna do. Also pray for that class because we are discussing India immediately after WWII and with that comes discussion of the different religions (Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, etc). Ok, got to run.

One scary night

Ok, so last night around 3:30 my roommate woke me up to inform me that there was a girl in her bed. Now, I don't know how a normal person would have reacted to finding a person in their bed at night (I would have screamed) but she just started laughing. So I turn on the light and my roommate whips off the covers. Yes, indeed, there is a girl in her bed. We don't know who she is so we go get the RA, Megan. Megan makes the girl get out of my roommate's bed, and she's wearing my roommate's pajamas. When asked where she was, the girl replied "Carpenter" (which by the way, is not our dorm). RA Megan told her to find her pants, she picks them up and they are soiled - ew. After giving RA Megan her name and ID number, she goes into the hall to change from my roommate's shorts into her own pants. And immediately after, runs away. So, I didn't get back to sleep until about 5:30. The girl had just walked right into the room and passed out. This was due to my roommate's decision to not lock the door that night (because she "would be up in a few hours anyway" having got home at 2:30). Sigh, so that was one crazy night. It was like a horror film but the girl wasn't dead. I'm just very glad that she didn't climb into my bed or I would have been very upset. So, now I hope that the door will be locked at night from now on.

Volleyball Tourney at ISU

We had our first volleyball tournament today! Granted we lost every game - but it was fun nonetheless. Besides, the Drake A team got 4th in their pool, which is awesome because we were playing all big public schools (Colorado St, Iowa St, Iowa, Minnesota, Eastern Illinois, Kansas). That was a fun day - even if we almost never found the place! :)

David Crowder Band

Wow, I just saw David Crowder Band in concert and it was really fun! They are very entertaining to watch and I love the songs, so I ended up buying their CD, Illuminate. Probably my favorite song is: Open Skies
